The Center for Derm Surgery of Monroe
Our office is pleased to serve as host forThe Center for Dermatologic Surgery of Monroe, LLP, specializing in various forms of skin cancer surgery such as MOHS micrographic surgery and reconstruction. The directors are Dr. Yehuda D. Eliezri and Dr. Edward Desciak. MOHS micrographic surgery is the preferred method of removal of complex, aggressive or recurrent skin cancer, especially on the face, neck and scalp.
Dr. Eliezri earned his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario in Canada in 1976. He first trained in internal medicine for two years before doing his dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in Ohio. Dr. Eliezri completed a fellowship in MOHS surgery, laser surgery and dermatologic surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical School. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American College of MOHS Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He was the Director of the Surgical Unit of the Department of Dermatology at Columbia from 1983-1998. Dr. Eliezri is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also practices MOHS surgery in his office in Pomona, New York.
Dr. Desciak completed his medical degree in 1996 and dermatology residency in 2000 at the Pennsylvania University College of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Dermatology and by the American College of MOHS Surgeons. He completed a fellowship in dermatologic surgery and MOHS micrographic surgery with Dr. Eliezri in affiliation with Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 2001. Currently, Dr. Desciak is on the Clinical Faculty at Columbia University college of Physicians and Surgeons where he takes part in training residents. He has authored numerous articles regarding skin surgery and oncology and presented lectures at several forums in the field.
